Russian Federation previously had independent laws that required mandatory
certification for products to be carried across the border. The GOST-R mark is
one of the certification that was prevalent until 2013.
The
new EAC certification has more or less replaced GOST-R requirement. G&M

GOST-R
certification
The
GOST Russia Certificate of Conformity was mandatory for a range of products. It
was required by the Russian customs and trade or the industrial inspection
authorities.
Gosstandart
of Russia (GOST-R), a governmental organization, was in charge of maintaining
as well as enforcing the system. The Russian law was quite similar to what you
might have experienced with the European approach.
Options
for conformation and elated assessment included mandatory certification, self
declaration and accreditation. The organization identified 14 areas and 31
product categories which required mandatory certification.

Certification troubles
The
Russia EAC mark is easy to obtain if you have complete information about the
documents and other requirements. The process may still get muddles because of
the replacement of previously required GOST-R certification.

the new certification wasn’t implemented at the same time for each sector.
Instead, it was implemented in a three years’ timeframe to ensure smooth
transition.
